About The Breed

THEY ARE FEISTY, AFFECTIONATE , LOYAL, FRIENDLY AND OBEDIENT.

IF SOCIALISED EARLY THEY GET ON WELL WITH CHILDREN AND OTHER PETS.

THEIR IDEAL HEIGHT IS BETWEEN 12 – 14 INCHES BUT YOU DO GET THE ODD DOG THAT GROWS TO 16 INCHES.

THEY ARE DOGS THAT DO NOT LIKE TO BE LEFT ALONE FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME.

THEY DO NOT NEED A LOT OF SPACE AND APARTMENT OWNERS CAN ALSO KEEP THEM. OF COURSE, THEY DO ENJOY GOING FOR A WALK AND MODERATE EXCERCISE.

THEY SHOULD NOT BE OVERFED BECAUSE THEY TEND TO PUT ON WEIGHT EASILY AND THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT HEALTHY. DO NOT FEED THEM TABLE SCRAPS OR FOODS WITH A HIGH FAT CONTENT BECAUSE THE BREED IS PREDISPOSED TO PANCREATITIS (VERY PAINFUL AND LIFE THREATENING IF NOT TREATED AS A MATTER OF URGENCY) AND HYPERLIPIDAEMIA (LIKE HIGH CHOLESTEROL IN HUMANS).

A BLESSING IS THAT THEY DO NOT SHED AND ARE HYPO-ALLERGIC.

THEIR COAT NEEDS MINIMAL GROOMING BUT SHOULD BE BRUSHED DAILY

PROFESSIONAL GROOMING IS RECOMMENDED EVERY 6 – 8 WEEKS TO KEEP THEM IN TIP TOP CONDITION.

THEY TYPICALLY LIVE FOR 12 – 14 YEARS.

You were so kind in driving him through to Joburg and making sure he was comfortable and safe flying – even with his toy.

He arrived in George a healthy, happy and very trusting little boy.

Your hard work, attention and all the love you gave him ensured that he is now a confident, super intelligent, lovable and well adjusted puppy. He fit right into our home and brings us endless joy.

All the questions you asked and the time you took to make sure Ludwig was going to a good home was also very welcome, both before we got him and also after he arrived. We are so glad you are a “Responsible Breeder” and as you know we are happy to refer you to any would-be human parents of your puppies in future.

Our puppies will be registered at KUSA. Certificates will be posted to owners as soon as possible. Our puppies differ in colour from Solid Black, Salt & Pepper to Black & Silver.

Price includes check up by Vet, Micro-chip and inoculation at six weeks, and de-worming at three and also six weeks.
